Royal Life Saving Society WA delivers the accredited and internationally endorsed Swim and Survive program, teaching the critical water safety and swimming skills a child needs to prevent drowning, but still 21% of primary school age children are missing out on swimming lessons each year. Those most at risk are regional and rural, indigenous and multicultural children. For every child who drowns in WA, up to 10 are hospitalised following a non-fatal drowning incident, with up to 4 of these suffering serious lifelong health implications including brain damage. Giving to the Swim and Survive Fund will put a stop to these children missing out.
